Inclusion in the outdoors matters because:
It matters everywhere. Everybody deserves clean air, clean water, access to healthy food, a safe shelter, and the ability to play and find joy. Everybody deserves equal access and encouragement to recreate outdoors and on “public lands”. When folks have the time and energy to care for themselves they’ll be able to care for the environment, and vote for leadership that does too.
Five years down the line, it’s our hope that:
We hope the Outdoor Industry (and beyond) takes the time to listen deeply to every story with the intent to understand the nuances and complexities. We hope that there are more creative collaborations than ever due to all the businesses that have promoted “diverse” leaders. That we, as humanity, can use our voice and vote, for the environment.
And my future future hope/dream is that we nix the stock market and instead make investments in long-term sustainability, with businesses that follow B-Corp principles and put people and the environment first.
