The Culture
The best thing about working at RMI Expeditions is:
Having a group of spirited individuals to work and climb with at a company that travels the globe in search of adventure. The people we meet, the climbers we work with, the mountains we work in, and the challenges of the environment all contribute in making a rewarding place to work.
When we’re not working, we’re:
Still outdoors! We spend our time backcountry skiing, rock climbing, surfing, and then trying to get some sleep before we turn back around to take our customers into the mountains for their adventures.
What we’re reading:
Being Mortal - Atul Gawande
Between the World and Me - Ta-Nehisi Coates
The Bear and the Nightengale - Katherine Arden
Shantaram - Gregory David Roberts
Cadillac Desert - Marc Reisner
Desert Solitaire - Edward Abbey
What we’re listening to:
Nathaniel Radcliff and the Nightsweats
Samantha Fish
Fela Kuti
Habib Koite
Sylvan Esso
Jurassic 5
Maggie Rogers
John Brown’s Body
Jamestown Revival
If they made a movie about our workplace, it would be called:
“The Journey is for the Soul”
Inclusion in the outdoors matters because:
The mountains have the potential to provide adventure, fulfillment, growth, and wonder to all. A lack of access or opportunity for that growth for some, diminishes us all.
Five years down the line, it’s our hope that:
RMI Expeditions guide staff, support staff, customer base and the outdoor community at large are more representative of the great diversity of people found in the United States. We are committed to developing and communicating hiring practices and programming which delivers on that hope.
