Inclusion in the outdoors matters because:

When diversity is celebrated and inclusion valued, we can inspire outdoor participants to do the activities they love, more often with greater enjoyment, inspiration, and knowledge.

  1. It breaks down barriers and invites those who might not otherwise consider trying an activity to feel welcome.

  2. Inclusion leads to representation which inspires participation, and at the end of the day that's what we really want, more people from all backgrounds participating, enjoying and protecting the outdoors.

  3. Outdoors inclusion matters because sometimes you need to disconnect to recharge and nature benefits your overall health.

  4. Nobody is included until we're all included. Without unique perspectives, experiences, and people, life is awfully boring.

Five years down the line, it’s our hope that:

Diversity is embedded in who we are and everything we do. It is reflected in our rich content, tools and services, and is a direct result of our people’s vibrant background.
