The Culture
The best thing about working at Brandeis Mountain Club is:
Getting to know new members and exciting a passion for the outdoors in college students.
When we’re not working, we’re:
Dreaming up new trips, rock climbing, hanging out in our hammocks, making trail mix.
What we’re reading:
The World Without Us, by Alan Weisman;Wild, by Cheryl Strayed
What we’re listening to:
“Moments in the Mountains”, Madison Olds; “Down the River”, Milky Chance; “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”, Diana Ross
If they made a movie about our workplace, it would be called:
Can the Gear Room be Cute? An HGTV special
Inclusion in the outdoors matters because:
When kids are first introduced to the outdoors, they shouldn’t have to question whether they belong in that space due to their race, gender, physical ability, or socioeconomic status. When they consume outdoor media, buy gear, and simply exist in the outdoors they should be surrounded by role models that look like them.
Five years down the line, it’s our hope that:
Brandeis Mountain Club will represent the diverse student body of Brandeis University, and we will have a slate of accessible trip options for people of all physical abilities and experience levels.
