The best thing about working at smartwool is:

Hands down, the best part of working at Smartwool is the people. As a company, we exist to bring comfort, confidence, and community to a life lived outside. And our employees live this company-wide purpose at work and away from their desks—always willing to help people get outside and play as a group.

When we’re not working, we’re:

Outside. Whether it’s taking our dog for a walk on a chilly morning, volunteering with our advocacy partners, or seeking out fresh powder turns, we hope to never lose sight of the thing that inspires us most—the joy of being in wild places.

What we’re reading:

If not a trail map. Our favorite outdoor magazine—getting inspired to get out and try new trails, slopes, mountains, and climbs.

What we’re listening to:

Right now? The voices of our community—learning how to be better advocates of big issues we both care about. Also, the entire Earth, Wind, and Fire discography on repeat.

If they made a movie about our workplace, it would be called:

Powder Time—an 80s ski movie where we learn valuable lessons about friendship and sharing the fun of the outdoors with others. And, of course, we beat the notorious Icelandic ski team in a local resort competition (through power of friendship of course).

Inclusion in the outdoors matters because:

We believe that the outdoors belong to no one and, at the same time, to everyone. And all communities deserve to experience the joys of nature without fear, anxiety, or roadblocks. We also know that being outdoors makes you healthier and happier and in turn, means you are more inclined to protect the natural environment.  Our vision is to help provide access for all communities to participate in the outdoors safely, and enjoy the benefits that nature provides.

Five years down the line, it’s our hope that:

We have helped build a more diverse community inside and out through the candidates we interview and hire, through the athletes and artists we partner with, and through the stories we tell. We want to help make the outdoors a more diverse, equitable place for all communities.
