The Culture

The best thing about working at mountainfilm is:

Our ability to inspire audiences by sharing diverse voices and perspectives.

When we’re not working, we’re:

Playing outside in the beautiful mountains

What we’re reading:

How to be an Anti-Racist, Ibram X. Kendi's; Black Faces, White Spaces, Carolyn Finney (Mountainfilm guest speaker); AMERICANAH by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, White Fragility, Robin DiAngelo (Mountainfilm guest speaker).

What we’re listening to:

1619, Code Switch, White Lies, Irresistible, Sugar Calling, The Last Archive, Unlocking Us and Never Before with Janet Mock.

If they made a movie about our workplace, it would be called:

Indomitable Spirit.

Inclusion in the outdoors matters because:

Beginning with our 2019 festival on equity, we have been educating ourselves and examining our privilege. We are committed to amplifying and elevating diverse voices in the outdoors through our films and guests, as we know and believe the outdoors should be an inclusive space for all and fully understand our role and impact in advancing this belief as an adventure film festival.

Five years down the line, it’s our hope that:

Mountainfilm has a more diverse audience, staff and board. Through our filmmaker support grants, we also hope to support and amplify more diverse voices in storytelling. We have work to do.
